Movie-O-Meter

You guys know that I love watching movies right? You guys also know my favorite genre of movies is comedy romantic but it doesn't mean that I don't watch any other movie genre. I named the title as it is instead of using title of a movie itself because there are three movies that I'd like to share to you and all of them are coming from different genre.

So, please sit back prepare a bag of popcorn and maybe a drink! Let the movie marathon starts...

Genre: Crime

Repo Men, 2010
Synopsis: Set in the near future when artificial organs can be bought on credit, it revolves around a man who struggles to make the payments on a heart he has purchased. He must therefore go on the run before said ticker is repossessed. Source: IMDb

What's good about this one: it makes you... THINK that somehow somewhere it becomes true, we don't know when but the chances are big. I can see in 30 to 50 years ahead as technologies getting more sophisticated and people are getting lazier to live healthy, that's might be the time. It's like credit card holder are being "chased" by debt collector nowadays but this time it's your organ and the chasing will be merciless

Sabee's movie-meter: 8 out of 10 / recommended!

Genre: Sci-Fi

Battle Los Angeles, 2011
Synopsis: A Marine Staff Sergeant who has just had his retirement approved goes back into the line of duty in order to assist a 2nd Lieutenant and his platoon as they fight to reclaim the city of Los Angeles from alien invaders. Source: IMDb

What's good about this movie: it's different from any other Sci-Fi/dooms day/war kind of movie. I mean this one's enemy is more difficult to be defeated of plus it's kinda rare being touched by sad scene on some Sci-Fi movie. I did anyway. Furthermore, great graphics and effects just make it seems perfect!

Sabee's movie-meter: 7.5 out of 10/recommended!

Genre: Drama

Hemingway & Gellhorn, 2012
Synopsis: A drama centered on the romance between Ernest Hemingway and WWII correspondent Martha Gellhorn, Hemingway's inspiration for For Whom the Bell Tolls and the only woman who ever asked for a divorce from the writer. Source: IMDb

It's originally an HBO film so you can't find it in any cinema but in case you don't have TV cable you still can buy it in DVD. Believe it or not, I just watched this few hours ago haha...

W Magazine Cover, May 2012
What's good about this movie: the scenes are merged with the actual war footage at that time. It brought me into the movie even deeper somehow. As if you were there also! The love story and the intrigue between the playboy Hemingway and the war lover Gellhorn also interesting to watch. Truth to be told, I often dislike this kind of movie and fall asleep in the middle but this time I didn't hahaha...

Sabee's movie-meter: 7.5 out of 10/ recommended!

Well, that's all for my movies review this time. I'm sure there are a lot to come knowing that great movies are queuing in line to be seen by a movie goers like me, ha! And oh, I can see your popcorn and drink are empty already. Means that we have to end here.

Hopefully you'll give it a try to watch one of these movies if not more and like it either!
Until my upcoming posts, guys!
xx
